The ITB 16v Mk2 gets a baffled sump, Pipercross filters, more camber, brake ducts and more
In this video we get into more track day prep. We're early because the next event is only on the 17th of August but that's what happens when there's a big gap between track days. The car feels really good right now, I'm looking forward to seeing it it makes a difference on track.

I was fortunate to be able to do 2 track days in June. I went into the 2nd one trying to slow down and learn the fundamentals before trying to run PB's but as I came to learn, going slower is actually faster. My first track day was a success. Not without its issues but overall the car did really well. The driver on the other hand has a lot to learn. I didn't really try and run fast times but I did try and push a little harder progressively. The car has good pace but I'm not carrying enough speed through the corners. I'll get it though. In this video we go check out Matthew's 16v Mk1 on the dyno followed by checking out my 16v on the dyno again... We made some adjustments and it ended up changing things. In this video I try to find out what's wrong with Leah. From what we can see, the gearbox is not in a good place. Until it gets stripped down, we won't know what exactly is wrong. @@xaviersandrinedemay6396 Robin from @garageheart set the camber. I used Jaxon tyre for my alignment.

@@xaviersandrinedemay6396 You should try ES Tech. They sell the camber plates. Chat to them about who could assist with setting up camber. And then Supaquick should help you get it dialled in.

19:32 Air filters on any car are a good idea. I’d be more concerned about performance and longevity than sound. But hey it’s your car after all.

Hi, Lorenzo! Where can I buy those plastic slides to keep the seat stable? i drive a golf mk1 and my seats are wobbly
I bought mine from Exclusive in the Southern Suburbs. You can try Midas as well. I think they also stock it.
Someone it getting ready for Group 3 at the August track day. I'd be careful of mixing tyre compounds. Having a font end on FWD that has a lot more grip due to the tyres will have a sharper turn in, but it may cause more oversteer. Especially lift off oversteer. For Drags it won't be an issue. Putting them on the rear might cause understeer as the rear now has more grip than the front.
@@darrenleeliebenberg6975 I'll be running street tyres at the next track day but these tyres came up and I know that I'll be switching soon so I got them. I watched a video by DannyDC2 recently and he was racing a EK. He purposefully switched to a tired set of rears because he wanted the car to rotate which is what I should be after as well. Some guys actually run a street tyre in the rear or over inflate the rear to make it "loose". I'll be experimenting with these things for sure. And lift off oversteer is sketchy af. I guess the solution is not to lift 🤣
@@lowdl you gonna be group 2? There's nothing wrong with making the switch to semis. Think you'll have more fun especially once the warm up. I just wouldn't run like street tyres on one axle and semis on the other unless you're doing drags. Otherwise the car will be unpredictable on turn in
@@darrenleeliebenberg6975 Yes, I'll likely be in group 2 for a long time. The only reason I'm not switching tyres right now is because we want to test the few changes we're making on the same tyre. Might be pointless but hey, that's what we're doing. Lol. And I wouldn't really run a semi and street tyre combo either. Seems sketchy but people do it. 🤷🏽
@@lowdl Guess I'll be seeing you in group 2 then. But yeah, you don't wanna make too many changes at the same time, then you wont be sure on what worked and what didn't. And I agree that a Semi and street tyre is dodgy, I tried it once on my single seater just to see what would happen and it was not fun at all
